There are three kinds of Hajj:
- Hajj-e-Ifrad:(Hajj without Umrah) Pilgrim pronounces his or her niyyah(intention) to perform only Hajj at Meeqat while changing into Ihram. Slaughter is not required.
- Hajj-e-qiran:(Umrah and Hajj in one Ihram): The pilgrim pronounces his or her niyyah(intention) to perform both Umrah and Hajj together with the same Ihram at Meeqat. Slaughter is required.Umrah and Hajj is combined with or without animal sacrifice.
- Hajj-e- Tamattu: (Umrah and Hajj in separate Ihrams): The pilgrim pronounces his or her intention to perform Umrah at Meeqat while changing into Ihram . A second niyyah(intention) follows on the 8th of Zil hajj for performance of Hajj with new Ihram.
More important info about Hajj-ul -Tamattu:
- Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) urged his followers to perform this hajj .
- The word tumattu is from the word matta which means "to reap profit".
- Second Ihram is worn at Makkah.
- Slaughter is required.
Me : I am learning about how to perform hajj gradually and slowly. I hope by writing this blog I am helping some other people as well.
